The Strange Encounters

It is with great sadness that we have to acknowledge the fact that there are less and less clubs in which you can play rock music at a noise level this music traditionally needs. When asked to use brushes or a Cajon I said no and instead learned to play neighbour-friendly – and still shooting for a sound with a solid backbeat.

Some of these lessons I learned with „The Strange Encounters“. The band sometimes materializes as a guitar duo, sometimes fully fledged as a rock band. Songs are great in either incarnation. Here is one from a while ago:

Bass drum looks best without a mic port – and gives a warm, full sound

Here is another one that I messed up big time. I should have gone more with the bass guitar instead of rushing like it was the first day on the drums. Anyway, I love what Joe and Orit are doing:

Great tune (not so great drums, though)
